The undisputed party capital of South Cyprus, Ayia Napa combines beautiful beaches with an incredible party scene. The area is still one of the best value ways to grab some sun and party with people from all around the world.
Unlike many other party resorts, Ayia Napa prides itself on its cleanliness and safety. All of Ayia Napa’s beaches are Blue Flag certified, which means they are guaranteed to be well staffed, safe and most importantly, clean.
There’s a variety of different accommodation on offer, from budget hotels to private villas. Some tour operators will even offer discounts to those who book in large groups, meaning it’s never been easier to get all your mates together for a party.
Food in Ayia Napa is still relatively good value for a tourist hotspot. Brits with homesick taste-buds are well catered for with plenty of café’s offering traditional British fare. The local chefs have definitely realised the restorative powers of a greasy fry-up!
Those looking for somewhere a little more ‘authentic’ will, generally speaking, have to head out of town - though it is possible to find some great fresh sea-food in restaurants around the harbour area.
Drinks prices in Ayia Napa have increased steadily in the past few years and are generally just below, or on a par with those in the UK. However, with the sheer amount of establishments competing for your business, it’s always possible to take advantage of some great promotions and ‘buy one get one free’ offers.
Since the 90s Ayia Napa has become famous for its raucous bars and clubs. With so many pubs and clubs competing for your custom, it’s a good idea to ‘shop around’ when looking for the best drinks deals and atmosphere.
Our advice is to spend a bit of time away from the main strip and check out some beach bars. Bars along the famous Nissi beach attract some of the best club DJ’s and allow you to experience the atmosphere of the strip in a beautiful sea-side location.
Another great tip for partygoers is to climb aboard a boat party. Ayia Napa boat parties last all day and take you past some incredible scenery. It’s good to book early as the best boats nearly always sell out, especially during peak season.
Both families and 18-30s will love the Waterworld water park, the largest themed waterpark in Europe. Each ride is themed around an ancient Greek myth, making it a great fun way to teach the kids a bit of ancient history!
